About |
I love a good sports photo! It’s not just about getting a good action shot, it’s about the emotional impact of the shot. Many photographers take a picture that freezes action, but that doesn’t make a compelling picture. One of the reasons I love capturing athletes, is that they are totally in the moment. When they are fully involved in their sport, they don’t know-or care- that you’re there. You get a glimpse into the real person. Nothing is being hidden behind some plastered-on smile, it’s just them.
I’ve studied with, and learned from some of the best photographers currently shooting. My photography tips and images have been published worldwide by Babble, Nielsen Images ShutterLove, Me Ra Koh, and other leading educators in the photography industry. In 2011, I became a certified teacher and love teaching workshops. Seriously, I get such a rush seeing those of you who have been struggling with your photos when you finally “get it”. And I enjoy breaking down all the technical jargon and concepts into manageable, easy-to-understand chunks of information.
I am blessed to live on a hazelnut farm in the beautiful Willamette Valley of Oregon (you’re welcome Nutella lovers!). I’m the wife of one amazingly patient husband, mother to two quirky redheaded daughters, and playmate for one overly-energetic canine!
