Hartford, Connecticut USA (10 April 2014) – As the economy is continuing to grow, members of the Connecticut chapter of Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) say they plan to hire more employees and expect an increase in net profit and revenue in the next six months, according to recent Global Entrepreneur Indicator survey results.
EO Connecticut has 33 members and their companies have more than $1,416 million in total sales and employ 1,143 individuals.
“As you can see in the results of this survey, EO Connecticut businesses are thriving, and will continue to grow,” said IT Direct, LLC president Ari Santiago, president of EO Connecticut. “After a challenging few years, entrepreneurs in our chapter are proud to provide Connecticut with high quality, well-paying jobs.”
Each year, EO surveys its members worldwide to put together a Global Entrepreneur Indicator, which gauges entrepreneurs’ outlook on business performance, both in the past and in the future. See below for an overview of EO Connecticut’s responses to the Global Entrepreneur Indicator.
Jobs: Change in number of full-time employees during the past six months, and predicted change in number of full-time employees during coming six months:
•     Fifty-two percent of EO Connecticut respondents increased the number of full-time employees during the past six months.
•     Seventy-four percent of EO Connecticut respondents expect to increase their full-time staff in the next six months, compared to 67 percent of global respondents.

Profit: Change in net profit during the past six months, and predicted change in net profit during coming six months:
•     Eighty-three percent of EO Connecticut respondents increased their net profit during the past six months, which is 22 percent more than global respondents.
•     Ninety-one percent of EO Connecticut respondents predict an increase in net profit over the next six months, compared to 81 percent of global respondents and 88 percent of New York respondents.

Revenue: Change in a business's revenue during past six months, and predicted change in a business's revenue during coming six months:
•     Seventy-four percent of EO Connecticut respondents experienced an increase in revenue over the last six months, compared to 68 percent of global respondents and 64 percent of New York respondents.
•     Ninety-one percent of EO Connecticut respondents predict an increase in revenue during the coming six months, which is eight percent more than global respondents.
•     No EO Connecticut respondents predicted a decrease, compared to three percent of global respondents.

Business environment: Predicted change in country’s economic environment during coming six months:
•     Eighty-seven percent of EO Connecticut respondents expect the economic environment to improve or remain the same in the next six months.
•     Eighty-three percent of EO Connecticut respondents expressed willingness to start a new business in the next six months.
