FreezeNit is developing a medical device for treating head lice using only cold CO2 gas. Our technology effectively kills head lice and nits by simultaneously freezing and asphyxiating them, without the need for messy creams, harmful pesticides, or prescription treatments. FreezeNit quickly treats the whole head at the same time, versus other treatments that require time-consuming, painful, strand-by-strand combing. This innovative approach addresses the growing demand for non-toxic personal care products among health-conscious parents.

We are solving the treatment burden on parents and children who have contracted drug-resistant “super lice”, which now are the majority of cases in the US. The anxiety, stigma, and estimated 24M lost days of work and school each year is a heavy treatment burden which falls disproportionately on girls and mothers.
