About

GFWC clubs and clubwomen are the fabric that binds not only the Federation, but the communities in which they live and work. By Living the Volunteer Spirit, GFWC clubwomen transform lives each day, not simply with monetary donations, but with hands-on tangible projects that provide immediate impact. With a grassroots approach that often thinks locally but impacts globally, GFWC, its clubs and members remain committed to serving as a force for global good, as it has done since its formation 128 years ago.

All of our programs are funded through donations, volunteering, and fundraising efforts of the club. No board member or volunteer receives any renumeration for their efforts. Each year we distribute funds to well over a dozen other non-profit organizations including the Youth Agency, Summer Reading programs, local animal shelters, and other programs within the community. Our primary purpose is to fund at least 2 scholarships yearly that are based on community service and volunteerism and a third recently added scholarship for a HS senior interested in an educational field of study.

The WCGNM is responsible for events such as The Teddy Bear festival, now in its 23nd year (2019), the Fourth of July Cake, Thanksgiving Baskets where we provide Thanksgiving meals for over 225 families each year!
