The DIG Program is an interactive e-learning course for teens and preteens that helps them develop good habits to be safe, smart and healthy in their online activities.
The DIG Program, which stands for Digital Individual Guidelines, consists of five interrelated segments for children age 10 and older:
Digital Conduct teaches students about the risks and consequences of behaviors such as bullying, ranting, ghosting, sexting and other conduct detrimental to their mental health;
Digital Reputation shows students how to use social media to craft and build a positive reputation;
Digital Authenticity encourages students to be genuine online and teaches them to validate and verify the people, sites and content they see, including fake news;
Digital Safety covers the importance of guarding personal identifiable information, adjusting privacy settings, avoiding hazardous sites, preventing distractions, and locking down devices;
Digital Habits educates them about how bad habits can lead to addiction and teaches them how to manage their screen time.
The DIG Program is available to schools. There are two versions: one for grades 5-8 and one for grades 9-12. Parents can also sign their kids up directly. The Program is easy, efficient and economical. Students learn how to become model digital citizens by practicing safe, smart and healthy online habits.
