What is GinaCurl?

GinaCurl is a revolutionary treatment for clients with lots of curls and coils, and hair of mixed textures. Unlike other chemical texture treatments, GinaCurl is specifically formulated for tightly coiled and curly hair and is easily customized for varying curl patterns and mixed porosity levels using a technique that gives attention to every strand so that hair looks equally fabulous all over. It's the healthier alternative when you want to soften and stretch your curls, smooth or permanently straightening your hair. It eliminates tangling, reduces frizz and excess volume, and best of all, helps preserve your new length.
And unlike any other curl treatment, with GinaCurl you can go from Curl Reformer to Straight Variation and back again!

How is GinaCurl Unique?
We adjust our approach to protect your hair. Most clients have a natural mix of textures and varying porosity levels from past chemical treatments. The longer the hair, the more layers of complexity.

Your roots require a stronger chemical because virgin hair is resistant. But hair that's been chemically altered has a higher porosity level which requires a gentler formula. As we work our way down and around the head, we analyze and adapt.

This customized work takes time, and experience that only a GinaCurl stylist would have. GinaCurl is not a Jheri Curl, a Nuwave, or a soft curly perm. GinaCurl is a modern curl treatment developed with compassion for curls and coils, and with over a decade of research.

Is GinaCurl safe for the hair?
GinaCurl was created specifically for the unique demands of textured hair. When it came to providing beauty solutions for her textured hair clients, Gina Rivera wanted it all. Something that could reduce frizz and volume, reshape the curls, and leaves the hair healthier than before...without any risk of damage to the hair.  That was a tall order. And because Gina couldn't find what she wanted on the market, she decided after decades in the industry, to create it herself! When applied by a certified GinaCurl Stylist, the GinaCurl treatments are safe for the hair. It is important to first undergo a hair consultation so that the GinaCurl stylist will have a complete 5 year hair history to determine the best way to approach the service.

GinaCurl is a different type of curly perm! GinaCurl is not a Jheri Curl or Wave Nouveau, nor is it a kitchen relaxer you can do at home! What makes GinaCurl different is the product and the application technique that took over a decade to develop. Because of the active chemicals we use, we have an extended processing time - up to 1 hour. We need that time to apply the Thio Chemical and adapt our technique to your unique head of hair. Sometimes we can use 2 or 3 different strengths of Curl Reformer to address every different porosity level down the hair shaft. You can switch from any Jheri Curl Brand over to a GinaCurl. You cannot however switch back to a Jheri Curl after a GinaCurl Treatment
