In 2008 Healthy Advice Networks was selected as a winner in the 15th annual National Health Information Awards. The NHIA awards program recognizes the nation's best consumer health information programs and materials. 2008 is the fifth year in a row that Healthy Advice Networks received awards. Healthy Advice Networks received awards in both the digital screens Waiting Room Network and the Exam Room Program.

In 2008 Healthy Advice Networks received 12 merit awards, 3 bronze awards, 2 silver awards, and the Women's Health Network received a gold award for Total Health Information Program. Gold awards represent the top five percent of all entries; however, not all categories had entries that earned gold awards.

Other highlights of the 2008 awards, included:
   * Every Healthy Advice program won at least one award and several won multiple awards
   * Six Healthy Advice programs won Total Health Information Program Awards
         o Healthy Advice for Your Child (Exam Room Program)
         o Healthy Advice for Digestive Wellness (Exam Room Program)
         o CardioCare Network (Waiting Room Network)
         o Arthritis Care Network (Waiting Room Network)
         o Women's Health Network (Waiting Room Network)
         o Primary Care Network (Waiting Room Network)

The awards program is coordinated by the Health Information Resource Center, a national clearinghouse for consumer health information programs and materials. The NHIA recognizes the nation's best consumer health information programs and materials. Janet Bowman, associate director of the Health Information Resource Center, which organizes the awards, said, "These awards set an industry standard of quality for consumer health materials, and this seal of quality helps health professionals find the best consumer health information resources."

The Center, which houses a large collection of public and private sector materials, promotes the distribution of accurate, timely consumer health information materials to professionals in the field.
