About

Hollins Communications Research Institute (HCRI) is an international leader in stuttering research and therapy innovation. Founded by Ronald L. Webster, Ph.D. in 1972 to investigate stuttering using scientific methods and new treatment approaches, HCRI is recognized for inventing the concept of behavioral stuttering therapy and introducing many technology-based therapy innovations.

HCRI clinicians have treated more than 6,100 people who stutter from 48 countries. 93% of stutterers achieve fluency after 12 days and 70-75% maintain fluent speech for the long term. These outcomes represent, among the highest fluency results of any stuttering therapy.
