About

The Hispanic National Bar Foundation (HNBF) is an independent and unaffiliated 501(c)(3) whose mission is to expand access to higher education and strengthen pathways into the legal profession for students nationwide.

The HNBF believes that knowledge and diversity benefit everyone. The HNBF recognizes that a lack of opportunities, role models, information, and financial support are often barriers for many students. Our goal is to provide programs that remove these barriers along with the tools and resources necessary to ensure full and equal opportunity for all students interested in pursuing careers in law.

Since its inception in 1985, the Hispanic National Bar Foundation has been led by Hispanic lawyers eager to give back to the community by helping others follow them into the practice of law. The HNBF has grown from providing scholarships and fellowships to delivering programs and other resources to grow and advance the pipeline of diverse talent to the legal industry. Our Future Latino Leaders Summer Law Camp is our signature program geared to high school students interested in learning about the practice of law. Our recently relaunched Access Law Program focuses on offering first and second year law students information and mentorship to ensure they are not only successful in law school but are equipped with the tools to pursue careers at the most competitive law firms and legal departments.

Through these programs, we are not only supporting students at critical stages of their educational journey but also cultivating the next generation of leaders in law firms, corporations, public service, and the judiciary.

Our work is made possible by a powerful community—sponsors, volunteers, board members, alumni and supporters —who share a belief that talent is universal, even when opportunity is not. Together, we are helping close that gap.
