About |
Holy Cross College is a Catholic, four-year, co-educational, liberal arts institution founded in 1966 by the Brothers of Holy Cross. With a 13:1 student/faculty ratio, students find personal attention from professors who care about their success. The college focuses on the holistic development of the mind, body, and spirit. Students complete four experiential requirements before graduation—an internship to develop real-world qualifications, a service experience to develop compassion, an international experience to expand horizons, and a Capstone presentation to attest to their readiness for graduation.
Majors offered include Business, English, History, Teachers Education, Theology, Liberal Arts, Visual Arts, and Communications. ROTC and Marching Band are also offered in cooperation with the University of Notre Dame.
A member of the NAIA, Holy Cross offers athletic competition in men's and women's basketball, soccer, golf, and cross country, as well as men's hockey, baseball and lacrosse. The Pfeil Recreation Center was completed in 2009 to house athletics and student government.
Students from 30 countries and 50 states have attended the college. Many students choose to live on campus in dorms that feature single rooms, doubles, and apartment-style living.
The college is located on a 150 acre site along the St. Joseph River in Notre Dame, Indiana between St. Mary's College and the University of Notre Dame. Holy Cross College provides the best of both worlds—a close-knit, small college atmosphere with the cultural resources and social opportunities of a large university.
