About

We were established in 1989 as Sakura Communications. At that time Japanese companies were setting up factories in the North East of England and were looking to effectively communicate with the local, regional and national businesses and community. We became an immediate success in building up new relationships that took into account cultural sensitivities and an understanding of working environments. This spiralled towards the Chinese and Korean businesses that also came to the North East. In 2003 we became a limited company and began trading as ITL North East Limited; holding public sector contracts in addition to the private manufacturing companies whom we first provided a service.

Some councils that we worked with in 2003 are still with us now, which is a testament of our robust and consistent provision.

During these unprecedent times, all of our interpreters are observing social distancing and NHS/council PPE procedures.

We now provide a comprehensive range of interpreting and translation services for over 250 languages from Arabic to Zulu. We are providers of language based services on a national basis. Our head office is based in Gateshead in the North East of England while we also have a branch in Islington, London.

We are a resilient, reliable company with corporate policies and procedures that are aligned to support public sector policies and regulations. This includes a comprehensive code of conduct, confidentiality, caldicott guidelines and NHS information governance.

We promote social values by supporting apprenticeship employment and school/community projects.

Our services are accessible 24/7, 365 days a year through one centralised contact number. All calls are answered by our qualified administrators that will be able to help meet your needs.
