Impact Events is an event management platform built for the people who plan events on top of their day jobs. Church administrators, ministry leaders, human resources teams, nonprofit staff, alumni associations, teachers, and community organizers plan conferences, trainings, fundraisers, retreats, and celebrations every day, often without a title, a budget, or the right tools. Impact Events gives them professional-quality planning tools that are simple, affordable, and built for real life.

Our Story

Impact Events was born from frustration. Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer Kandice Whitaker Baldwin had spent nearly two decades planning trainings, conferences, and workshops as “other duties as assigned,” while working full time in information technology. After coming home from a disorganized conference where rooms changed without notice and she missed the speakers she came to see, she decided there had to be a better way. Enterprise tools like Cvent were built for professional planners with big budgets. Spreadsheets, group texts, and scattered email threads were all everyone else had. So in 2023, she and her business partner set out to build the app they wished they had.

The platform launched on March 31, 2026, and organizers have already planned 53 events in it. Our goal is simple: to be the Canva of event planning. Just as Canva made graphic design accessible to everyone, Impact Events makes great events possible for anyone, whether or not they have ever called themselves an event planner.

What Impact Events Does

Impact Events brings planners, volunteers, staff, and vendors together in one place, from the first idea to the final debrief. Key features include:

Artificial intelligence (AI) planning assistance that helps organize tasks, timelines, and details so nothing falls through the cracks.
Text message (SMS) and email communications, so updates reach attendees, volunteers, and staff on the phones they already check.
Run of Show, a minute-by-minute event-day schedule. Activities added during planning flow automatically into the Run of Show, so nothing has to be typed twice.
A Lessons Learned tracker that captures what worked and what didn’t, so every event makes the next one better.
The Event Efficiency Dashboard, which gives planners a clear view of progress, open tasks, and readiness at a glance.
Team roles and task assignments that make it easy to delegate and keep everyone accountable.

Impact Events also offers a free Catering Calculator on its website. It helps planners estimate how much food to order based on guest count, from platter sizes to wing counts.

Who We Serve

Impact Events is designed for organizations where events matter but planning is not anyone’s full-time job. That includes churches and faith-based organizations, nonprofits, human resources and employee engagement teams, colleges and universities, alumni associations, civic and community groups, and small businesses. Our launch markets are Maryland and Alabama, and the platform is available to organizations across the United States.

Our Team

Impact Events was founded by a team of information technology professionals with experience at organizations including Deloitte, PwC, Yale University, the Internal Revenue Service, the Cleveland Clinic, BlueCross BlueShield, Motorola, and ADT. The leadership team includes Kandice Whitaker Baldwin, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer; April Bridges, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer; Mike Bowers, Chief Technology Officer; and Kim Oden, Chief Design Officer. Our CEO is also our customer: she has lived the “other duties as assigned” life and builds every feature with that planner in mind. The company has received a Notice of Allowance from the United States Patent and Trademark Office for its trademark.

Impact Events offers plans for individuals and organizations, starting at $20.99 per user per month. The Executive plan serves organizations with five or more users. Every new user can start with a free 14-day trial, and early adopters can lock in 50% off for life.
