Impact LA is a black women-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Los Angeles that is committed to uplifting underserved youth and families through food security, education, emergency relief, and community-centered programming. Grounded in principles of equity, dignity, and care, Impact LA creates safe, supportive spaces where individuals can access essential services and opportunities that empower them to thrive.

Each year, Impact LA serves thousands of families across Los Angeles through a range of impactful programs. In 2024 alone, the organization provided over 207,000 meals to children and youth, ensuring that those facing food insecurity had consistent access to healthy nourishment. Through its Food Rescue initiative, Impact LA collects surplus food from local businesses and redistributes it to schools, shelters, and community centers, reducing both hunger and food waste. In addition to food security, Impact LA also operates expanded learning programs that offer academic enrichment, cultural engagement, and recreational activities during out-of-school time, helping students stay engaged and supported year-round.

The organization is also a trusted leader in emergency response and disaster relief. During recent wildfires in Los Angeles and Pasadena, Impact LA mobilized quickly—operating evacuation shelters, distributing meals, hygiene supplies, and clothing, and organizing large-scale drive-thru distribution events to support displaced families. These community-driven responses highlight the organization’s ability to adapt and meet urgent needs with care and efficiency.

Throughout the year, Impact LA hosts community-centered events such as its annual Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway, health pop-ups, and regular Friday distribution drives, where volunteers and staff provide diapers, hygiene kits, school supplies, clothing, and other essentials to local families. Volunteer engagement is a cornerstone of the organization’s impact, with opportunities for community members to support everything from event logistics to donation sorting and resource delivery.
