Founded and produced by longtime New York City journalist and former Village Voice columnist Mike Geffner, The Inspired Word is the hottest new poetry/spoken word event in NYC, happening every Thursday night and featuring the best performers in the country, including many from HBO Def Poetry Jam such as Suheir Hammad, Oveous Maximus, Patricia Smith, Rachel McKibbens, Lemon Andersen, Bassey Ikpi, Willie Perdomo, and Vanessa Hidary. Also showcases new, up-and-coming talent with an open mic. Must be 21 years old or older.
