KYW is an organisation which emphasizes on the social causes, issues, events/ programmes in the Kashmir valley. The main motto behind the Organisation is to provide benefits to the people and make society free from numerous social evils pertaining within it.
We the team of Kashmir youth web comprises of youth whose intention is to make their society a better and peaceful place to do well by working on the number of social issues and tend to be supported by their society so that they can work with efficiency.
We are working with The Foundation for a Drug-Free World which is a nonprofit public benefit corporation that empowers youth and adults with factual information about drugs so they can make informed decisions and live drug-free.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW?
There is a lot of talk about drugs in the world—on the streets, at school, on the Internet and TV. Some of it is true, some not.
Much of what you hear about drugs actually comes from those selling them. Reformed drug dealers have confessed they would have said anything to get others to buy drugs.
Don’t be fooled. You need facts to avoid becoming hooked on drugs and to help your friends stay off them.
Sooner or later—if it hasn’t already happened—you, or someone close to you, will be offered drugs. The decision of whether or not to use them could drastically affect your life. Any addict will tell you they never expected a drug to take control of their life or maybe that they started with “just pot” and that it was “just something to do” with their friends. They thought they could handle it and when they found out they couldn’t, it was too late.
EDUCATORS
As an educator you want to help youth stay clear of drugs and you know you need to reach them before the dealers do. While time and resources for effective drug education are sometimes lacking, and the materials used are often outdated, not to mention that they don’t factually speak to the kids, we can help.

No one, especially a young person, likes to be lectured about what he or she can or cannot do. Thus, we provide the facts that empower youth to choose not to take drugs in the first place. Additionally our Truth About Drugs campaign consists of activities that they can join which popularize drug-free living. These activities are simple, effective and can involve people of all ages.
Through KASHMIR YOUTH WEB a network of volunteers, 10000+ of drug prevention booklets have been distributed, many of drug awareness events have been held in most of the district of J&K and Truth About Drugs public service announcements have been aired on more than 50 television stations. These materials and activities have helped people around the world learn about the destructive side effects of drugs and thereby make the decision for themselves to not use them.
The Foundation provides information you need to start a Truth About Drugs education and prevention activity in your area.

How can you speak to your kids about drug abuse without using scare tactics or feeling like you're “preaching”?
There is nothing more important to you as a parent than your child’s well-being. Knowing the extent of the drug problem in our society, you naturally want to protect your child from the destruction drugs can cause to them physically, mentally and emotionally. But when you talk to them about drugs, how do you know they’re even listening?
Give them the truth about drugs and they will listen. It has been conclusively found that when young people are given the facts about drugs and their harmful effects, they decide on their own not to take them. So, how do you educate them before a dealer gets to them?
