The District of Columbia Public School is proud to announce a unique, inspired and unprecedented youth campaign initiative. DCPS has partnered with the National Alliance to End Abuse to launch ITZNOTOK (it's not okay) - ITZNOTOK will work with students within the District of Columbia and families that are challenged with all issues resulting or relating to an abuse. The National ITZNOTOK (it's not okay) Youth Campaign Initiative will offer self-esteem workshops, work skill training, mentorship opportunities, health workshops and many other student body services with an incentive reward program designed to encourage the student's advancement through many of life's challenges.

Recognizing the many implications abuse is having on our society and particularly the impact it is having on our youth, The National Alliance to End Abuse, a Washington D.C. based 501 (c) (3) non profit organization, began the ITZNOTOK Youth Movement in the Dallas School District on September 26, 2006 with the support of Mr. Terrell Owens, NFL Pro Bowl Wide Receiver of the Dallas Cowboys.  With other schools in between ITZNOTOK ended out 2006 with the support of NBA All-Star and Washington Wizards forward, Mr. Caron Butler.  ITZNOTOK has enjoyed the media support of FOX in program cities and national support from Broadminded on XM Satellite Radio; additionally the BBC began reporting on the successes of ITZNOTOK in April 2006.

"ITZNOTOK is a way for anyone that is concerned with the welfare of our Nation's youth to get involved and make a difference now; it’s not okay to look away.  ITZNOTOK introduces the importance of not allowing circumstance, failure, inappropriate attitudes and negative beliefs define who you are... it's not okay” Offered Jean Chouteau who serves as the Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning for "The Alliance".  The Alliance President Willie D. Crenshaw, Jr stated, “The mission of ITZNOTOK is to help youth advance in their roles and responsibilities within society. With so many of our youth depending on this service to help them overcome the many challenges and lasting affects of abuse. It’s important for us to realize the since of urgency and change this type of mindset and behavior.  As the "Youth Program Model" before the Nation we look forward to partnering with like minded organizations, corporations and individuals that will support this movement”.
