About

The Joint Project Manager for Medical Countermeasure Systems (JPM-MCS) plays a vital role in executing the U.S. Department of Defense’s (DoD) strategy to prevent, diagnose, and treat the effects of chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) threats and emerging infectious diseases. MCS is instrumental in protecting civilian and military populations against injury and disease caused by naturally encountered infectious agents as well as intentional exposure related to CBRN warfare.

MCS coordinates with civilian and military partners in developing innovative,
integrated medical solutions across the continuum of care, from vaccinations to diagnostics to therapeutics. MCS also collaborates with related Federal agencies and works with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to secure product licensing.

MCS headquarters, five Joint Product Management Offices, and one Product Support Offices guide the delivery of effective, affordable, and timely CBRN medical defense solutions.
