Johnny’s Marine Service Donates Time

And Expertise to US Sailing Center of Martin County

 

John Wigle donates services to repair and restore a needy vessel for a community sailing center

 

(Martin County, FL) – Johnny’s Marine Service is celebrating its grand opening by giving back to the community.  Wigle visited the US Sailing Center of Martin County recently and was impressed by what he saw. The sailing programs were first rate and the kids seemed to really love getting out on the water and learning.  He felt that his expertise could help the center out and volunteered to restore a needy boat in the fleet. Executive Director, Alan Jenkinson agreed to let Wigle do his magic on one of their small Opti training boats that had some fiberglass damage and a hull that was beginning to separate.

 

The US Sailing Center of Martin County is committed to broadening the base of the sport of sailing through dedicated, affordable, community sailing programs for youth and adults, and providing support for the development of future champions and Olympic racers.  Wigle, who is no stranger to the benefits of sailing, knew he could help fill an immediate need.  He has been working with fiberglass for over 20 years and felt he needed to use his expertise to give back to the boating community.  The boat was finished and Jenkinson could not be happier.
