About

Picture a clustered freeway & a country road, somewhere between a cactus & a warehouse, citrus withers beneath a sun soaked sky & rows of cookie cutter houses speckle the horizon. That's home. That's Inland. That's Desert-Billy, that’s Jonny Miller Jr. Brimming with wholesome, soulful sincerity, Jonny is a musician, artist, community organizer & Folk revivalist from the desert hills of the Inland Empire, East of Los Angeles. Like his father & his father's father before him, he was born & raised in California.

Miller leads with a voice that is uniquely husky yet reminiscent of America’s vast legacy of Folk singers. His acoustic guitar establishes a core of authenticity in all his compositions, which are often fortified by colorful harmonica solos. Collaborating with his band (Jonny Miller & Suns) his style includes elements of Folk Rock, Country Rock, Americana & Indie Bluegrass.

A contemplative lyricist with an appetite for substance, Jonny is a California Creative Corps state-funded grant-winning artist for his work reviving classic labor folk songs in the Inland Empire. Jonny's verses record his rage against injustice, capitalism & organized religion, his struggle with anxiety & depression & his profound love of nature.
