The Knee Hip and Shoulder Center was founded in 2004 by Dr. Thomas V. King recognizing the need for a dedicated practice focused on the art of joint replacement surgery in the New England region. In 2017, Dr. Moby Parsons joined Dr. King creating a small boutique practice with a relentless focus on rapid recovery and outcomes excellence. Together with physician assistants Kathleen Leavitt and Stacey Riley, we have refined a care pathway called AVATAR. This stands for Alignment of Vital Assets to Accelerate Recovery. The program has significantly shortened the recovery for knee, hip and shoulder replacement. The AVATAR rapid recovery program has now allowed up to 70% of patients to go home the same day and enjoy recovery in the comfort of home. Our recovery programs are tailored to each individual patients needs, customizing the perioperative process so that nothing falls through the cracks. We pride ourselves on navigating a seemless recovery for patients and focusing on achieving an excellent outcome.
