About |
We're a small indie team — just a handful of people who are deeply, genuinely obsessed with Japanese. Some of us passed the JLPT N1 as self-taught learners. We know what it's like to grind through thousands of kanji at 2 AM, to feel stuck at the intermediate plateau, to wonder if you'll ever actually get there.
But somewhere along the way, we started dreaming. What if we could combine our love for Japanese with our love for programming? What if we could build something that felt fun — not just effective, but genuinely exciting to open every day?
So we built Kanjidon.
It started as an experiment — flashcard-based, with an SRS system at its core, because we know that's what actually works. But we kept asking ourselves: what would make us want to study more?
And the answer was... what if studying kanji felt like a collectible card game? What if you could battle your friends in real-time PvP matches to test what you've learned.
Over the past months, we've been listening obsessively to every single piece of feedback from our users. Every suggestion, every complaint, every "hey, what if you added...". We've rebuilt features, redesigned screens, rewritten our SRS algorithm — all because our users told us what they needed, and we listened.
We're not a big company. We don't have a marketing budget. We just have a deep love for this beautiful language and a dream that maybe, just maybe, our little app can help some of you on your journey — even just a little bit.
If you're curious, Kanjidon is free to try. But honestly, even if you never download it, just know that this community has been an inspiration to us since day one.
