About

Karate International was established in North Carolina in 1974 for the purpose of teaching Karate to adults.  As times changed, children were introduced to our program.  We have since developed separate martial arts curriculums for pre-school children, young children, teens and adults.  We have expanded from one location with Karate Intruction to 6 locations with Karate, Judo, Jujitsu, Self Defense, Character Development in Children, Anti Bullying programs, and adult Mixed Martial Arts.

Karate International schools are most well known for their customer service.  They have systems in place to enable each to achieve their goals at their own level, no matter their age, ability, disability or skill.

There are many Black Belt Instructors who have been teaching for Karate International for over 20 years.  Mr. Rob Olevsky, Chief Instructor, holds a 9th Degree Black Belt in Karate, a 6th Degree Black Belt in Sanshinkai Jujitsu, a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Judo and a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Kendo.  He has trained in the martial arts his entire adult life and has taught and practiced the martial arts an average of 20 hours per week for 36 years.  His wife Kathy Olevsky, an 8th Degree Black Belt shares the responsibilty of their organization as the District Manager for all locations.

Karate International is well known in central North Carolina as a family based environment that utilizes creative scheduling to allow adults to train only with adults and children to train only with children and still offer enough convenience for families to participate in an activity together.
