Designer Determination Management, where passion, creativity, and strategic execution converge to elevate the creative arts and music industry. Founded by Kristopher Christie, a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience, our company is committed to empowering artists and events through a multifaceted approach that includes artist management, event planning, digital marketing, and innovative festival creation.
Kristopher Christie's journey began in the dynamic world of music, where he honed his skills at Chris Smith Management. During this pivotal time, he played a key role in Nelly Furtado's debut album, featuring the hit single "I'm Like a Bird." His hands-on experience with emerging talents, including Fefe Dobson, laid the groundwork for his expertise in artist development. This strong foundation has equipped Kristopher with the insights necessary to navigate the complexities of the music industry successfully.
As an event planner for The Berkeley Church, Kristopher orchestrated high-profile events that showcased his exceptional organizational skills and industry connections. Notable projects include a photo shoot with the globally acclaimed band Coldplay, along with numerous fashion shows and film shoots featuring celebrities and artists. His efforts have established The Berkeley Church as a premier location for significant events in the entertainment industry.
Recognizing the need for platforms that showcase emerging talent, Kristopher founded Battala Rockstars, one of Canada’s largest band competitions. This innovative platform allows artists to engage in head-to-head song battles, providing them with invaluable exposure to esteemed industry judges, including producer Gavin Brown and music journalist Karen Bliss. Battala Rockstars has fostered a vibrant community of musicians, heightening awareness of Canadian musical talent.
Kristopher's influence extends to artist development, where he played a significant role in shaping the career of Canadian singer Alyssa Reid, known for her hit "Alone Again." His strategic guidance and keen eye for talent helped Reid carve out a successful career in the competitive music landscape. Additionally, he developed Sebastian Javier, a rising star who achieved recognition with Elektra Records and Atlantic Records, further solidifying Kristopher's reputation as an influential figure in artist management.
In the realm of television, Kristopher made a memorable appearance in season one of "Party Mamas," showcasing his dynamic personality and ability to engage with a broader audience. His involvement in the show enhanced his visibility within the entertainment industry.
Kristopher co-founded the Imagine Festival with Artie Kornfeld, a founder of Woodstock '69, creating a unique musical experience that celebrated artistry and culture. Notably, the festival received the rights to re-record John Lennon’s iconic single "Imagine," adding a remarkable legacy to its lineup. He also co-created and sold the rights to the Everafter Festival in Kitchener, Ontario, featuring big-name DJs and attracting significant attendance, further demonstrating his ability to curate engaging events that resonate with music lovers.
Demonstrating his commitment to social causes, Kristopher partnered with promoters from Dubai, including Center Stage Management and Scorpio International, to organize a concert in Toronto's Downsview Park aimed at raising funds for Japan following a disaster. This initiative highlighted his dedication to philanthropy and showcased his ability to mobilize the music community for a greater purpose.
As a project lead, Kristopher oversaw the auction of a Damien Hirst-painted guitar at Christie’s auction house in the UK, which sold for an impressive USD 146,730, with proceeds benefiting War Child. This significant achievement underscored his capacity to blend art with philanthropy, leaving a lasting impact on both the music and charity sectors.
Kristopher previously ran the digital marketing division for YOUTH DAY Global, where he successfully led the marketing efforts for YOUTH DAY 2024, significantly increasing attendance by over 15,000 and bringing the total to 22,000 attendees. Now, he is focusing on new projects, including leading a dynamic digital marketing team within his company, where he collaborates with Cairo Snow, hip hop's newest prodigy, who set a world record with his debut single and is making waves with his second release.
