About

I am a freelance business and financial writer, content strategist and PR consultant in Los Angeles. I was a Forbes contributor for three years, covering Shark Tank, ETFs and mutual funds. Before becoming a solopreneur, I was a reporter at Investor’s Business Daily for nine years, covering stocks, exchange-traded funds and mutual funds.

In a previous life, I worked in public radio as a reporter and producer and local TV news as a producer. I have freelanced for National Public Radio, Marketplace, KQED in San Francisco, Pacifica Public Radio and various shows. I have worked for KPCC 89.3 FM, Southern California Public Radio, KCET, KESQ, KPFK and ABC NewsOne, a division of ABC News. I earned a BA in sociology at UC Berkeley and an MA in communications and journalism through the Kiplinger Public Affairs Fellowship at The Ohio State University.

I served as president of the Los Angeles chapter of AAJA in 2011. I have volunteered as a mentor with the Fulfillment Fund, a non-profit that helps disadvantaged students attend college, since 2012.
