LS Industries was founded in 1977 by entrepreneur Phillip (Little Swede) Enegren. Phil previously designed and sold cleaning equipment and systems for his father's manufacturing company, Parts and Equipment. The primary products manufactured were cleaning systems designed for the automotive rebuilders.
Established in his own company, Phil immediately increased the variety of products in the automotive line by adding pass through washers and rotary washers. Elliot Friday and Michael Wigart, who had also been employed by Parts and Equipment, assisted Phil in his new venture. Operations began from an old warehouse in the old town section of Wichita, Kansas.
Over the years product design, product appearance and function have improved dramatically. Major accomplishments and growth have occurred through the division of tasks into departments and the employment of skilled, experienced managers and workers. In addition, close attention was paid to selected markets, anticipating evolving needs for better and different products.
Milestones for the company included the construction of its present building in 1979 and its expansion in 1985. LS Industries entered the industrial market, in 1986, as a supplier of cleaning systems. Careful planning and execution was required to successfully launch a quality product line.
The company will continue to provide the automotive and industrial marketplace with state-of-the-art cleaning systems. New markets will be researched and new products will be designed, manufactured and marketed for those industries that need Clean Metals, Clean Solutions. It's this philosophy that truly positions LS Industries and its customers for the future.
