Lakeside Pottery Studio was established in 2001 as a ceramic art and pottery teaching facility operating for over 13 years now focused on art restoration, custom made pottery and Kintsugi art..
We repair and restore a wide range of materials which include pottery, ceramic, porcelain, china, terra-cotta, clay, stoneware, stone, metal sculpture, plaster, resin, wood and other materials. We can provide different levels of repair for high-end restoration and can propose more affordable options and rates. We always do the best we can to be sensible with advising our customers on the best path with restoring (or not) the damaged valuable.
We offer Kintsugi art shown in our on-line gallery or custom made to order. Kintsugi, as the practice is known, gives new life to damaged or aging ceramic objects by celebrating their frailty and history. One can consider how we might live a kintsugi life, or "rebirth" finding value in the cracks, missing pieces and chips – bringing to light the scars that have come from life experiences, finding new purpose through aging and loss, seeing the beauty of imperfection' and loving ourselves, family and friends despite flaws.
We are teachers at heart and share our knowledge and experiences on our website (see tutorials index page). We update and add information frequently including pottery making and managing a pottery studio lessons, glaze recipes and tips for both ceramic art and restoration.
We are also a custom pottery and ceramic art resource for art collectors, interior decorators and landscape designers. Our ceramic art services include indoor, outdoor / garden, functional pottery and portrait sculptures. Our work can be done from drawings or duplicating items that are broken. We can use a variety of clays (stoneware, Terra-cotta, Porcelain, etc.) and have a wide range of glaze colors.
