About

It all started with Darren Merlob, and his pool business. In 1989, just starting out with only a few pools on a service route, Darren grew his small local business, American Pool Resurfacing, to become one of the most profitable pool renovation companies in South Florida.

In 2004, frustrated with traditional crack repair methods (epoxy injection, re-bar, etc), he developed a revolutionary technique for repairing structural cracks using a patented compression staple. The Torque-Lock staple, Darren’s first innovation, is now used worldwide to repair and stabilize cracks in cement and  Gunite.

After relocating to Texas, Darren started a new local, family owned pool company that specialized in leak detection and leak repair. After much growth, the company began to stun its nationally-owned competition and became the most relied on leak detection company in central Texas.

It is with all of this experience and pioneering vision that brought about LeakTronics. With many years in the leak detection industry, it became apparent that the best available equipment was outdated and based on old technology. At LeakTronics our goal is to bring electronic leak detection to the 21st century.

About one year after introducing the LeakTronics kits to swimming pool contractors across the world, we began getting feedback from plumbers who were similarly frustrated with their own existing equipment. In 2011, after a full year of development, LeakTronics began distribution of the Plumbers Complete Kit which has made a major impact on the plumbing, irrigation, HVAC, fire, and industrial fields.
