Anthony Barfield is a highly accomplished composer and producer. Known for his lyrical writing style, his compositions have been performed internationally. Barfield has received commissions from prestigious organizations such as The New York Philharmonic, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and The United States Marine Band. His work has premiered at Carnegie Hall with pieces performed by The Toronto Symphony, The Seattle Symphony and Kansas City Symphony.

Barfield has a background as a former trombonist and has performed at renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center.

Barfield has also worked as a trombone teaching artist and was a member of the Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra. He founded a music production company called Velocity Music and has produced music for major artists such as Chris Brown and Lil Wayne. In 2019, Velocity Music signed a record deal with Pologrounds Music, a subsidiary of SONY RCA records.

Barfield holds degrees in trombone performance from the Juilliard School and Manhattan School of Music and currently teaches at Boston Conservatory at Berklee. He resides in New York City with his wife and pug, Gouda.
