An organization with a mission to encourage youth to dream, empower them to believe and inspire them to rise above the dire conditions in which they live. Specializing in customized science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) lessons, Little PHOENIXES offers mentoring, awareness and esteem-building programs infused with the principles of STEAM to youth of low income communities as a way of encouraging them to pursue secondary education and consequently a career in a STEAM-related field. We provide opportunities for participants engage in team-building exercises and projects that explore the connections between real-life scenarios and the STEAM-based solutions that apply.
The core programs include EmPOWERing with STEAM, which is catered to the host community and RISE Dreamers, which offers a $500 scholarship award for the recipient to pursue post-secondary education at a trade school, 2 or 4-year institution of their choice.
