About

As so many auction sites offer discounts and many other auction sites offer “buy now” on products that are last years stock, or end of line, we at cheekyoffer™ have designed a whole new way to allow the consumer to buy items that are a real bargain, and at the same time allow the seller to move stock on quicker than ever before, and at a higher price than they would ordinarily have achieved.

How does this work?

As with so many “Auction” and “buy it now” web sites, such as eBay, etc. We at cheekyoffer™ don’t place the required price on the listing page. This is hidden from the prospective buyer, within the reserve field. You show them the RRP and then ask them to place a cheekyoffer on the product they desire.

The buyer is allowed 5 Cheekyoffers in any 1-24 hours; this stops any small increment Cheekyoffers™.

An example would be:

You place a pair of your discounted shoes on the cheekyoffer™ site. You place a £30 hidden reserve on them, (as this is the price you are requiring for them) you also place an RRP that is visible to the consumer of £75.

The consumer then places a cheekyoffer™ of £25 on the item. As this is below your hidden reserve, they will receive an instant email, stating “that was a cheekyoffer, you have not won this item, please try again”

There are 3 different auto responses depending on how far away they are from the reserve price. This is set like this to encourage buyers to feel that they are not too far away from there goal and one more cheekyoffer could buy them the item. As they are aware that they now only have 4 Cheekyoffers™ left, they will be inclined to place another cheekyoffer in higher than the small increments that so many other sites offer.

They then place further Cheekyoffers™ on the item until they are either on or above the reserve. Even if someone else is placing a cheekyoffer™ on the same item whoever reaches on or above the hidden reserve first has won the item. No more waiting to get out bid or sniped at the last minute.

What does this mean for the seller?

The seller is able to move stock on a lot quicker, and also at a price higher than they were hoping to achieve.

The site is being launch on 25th July 2009 and we are looking for major retailers with many items for sale to join what we believe to be “the future of buying and selling” online.
