Mangal dosh is an astrological condition that occurs if Mars in the 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th, house of the Vedic astrology lunar chart. A person born in the present of this condition is termed a manglik.  This condition is believed by some superstitious people to be devastating for marriage, causing discomfort and tension in relationship, leading reparation and divorce, and in some cases.

It is believed to case untimely death of one person. This attributed to the �Fiery� nature of this planet. If two manglik marry, the negative effects are believed to cancel each other out. However, Mars is not the only planet in Vedic Astrology that is supposed to affect the relationship and these effects should be seen in a broader perspective of overall astrological compatibility.  

There is also a belief that the negative consequences for a single �manglik marriage can be resolved. If the manglik first performs a ceremony called a kumbh vivah, in which the manglik �marries� a banana tree, a peepal tree, or an icon of Vishnu.Some believe that one manglik should only marry another manglik, the idea being that two negatives cancel each other out, creating a positive.Although there are �Pooja� that can be constructed to allow manglik and non-manglik to marry each other.
Mangal Upasana
Mangal Upasana is Beneficial for security, Mangalik, Mangal dosha, insecurity, stress,  marriage problems. Lord Mangal is also known as Planet Mangal or Planet mars. (Mars) also known as Kuja and angaraka. Astrologically Mars is seen as a cruel planet. A person under the effect of this planet has a tendency to suffer through accidents, robbery, attack, or imprisonment, crime.

This planet (Mars) is usually detrimental and is often worshipped so that one can become free of its detrimental effects. One can wear red to help ward off the effects of this planet. If a leader starts a war on this day, he will be victorious. However, one should not start an auspicious activity on this day. Performing Mangal Puja can reduce the troubles and hurdles caused due to malefic position of MARS. Its malefic position may result in the cruelness and anger to the native.
As based on the horoscope the malefic or benefic effect of the planet Mars ( Mangal) is determined in relation to a person astrologically and not merely on the basis of exaltation or debilitation because under certain conditions even a debilitated Mars ( Mangal) can give beneficial effects whereas based on its position and degrees in the horoscope even an exalted Mars ( Mangal)can sometimes give malefic effects. Therefore, chanting of Tantrik or Vedic Mantra of the concerned planet 1,25,000 times or its half, 62,500 times reduces the malefic effects of that planet. In Panchangas, this number of times for the chanting of mantra for the Mars ( Mangal) is given as 10,000 when by chanting only 10,000 times the Mantra of the Mars ( Mangal) nothing substantial can be achieved and it is 1,25,000 times chanting alone which can give proper results.
