About

Memoirs, Inc. is a small business in operation for 18 years. We assist elders to write and publish their life stories in limited-edition hardcover books that are distributed at a book signing party. Just recently, the owner wrote and published a book about how to duplicate this business using a bedroom of a home, a computer, business savvy, and some experience working with elders. The book, Become a Memoirist for Elders: Create a Successful Home Business (Memoirs, Inc., 2012), includes instructions on how to initiate a business, including the newly identified principles, resources, process, and ethics involved. She recommends that after ten hours of interviewing an elder in the privacy and comfort of their home, the client receive three drafts for review. The resulting narrative is edited by a professional editor. Favorite photos and memorabilia are embedded by a book designer, and then the document is printed on archival paper and bound into thirty copies of hardcover books to be distributed at a family book signing party.
The book, Become a Memoirist for Elders: Create a Successful Home Business, is available on Amazon.com for the incredibly low price of $24.95. James E. Birren, Ph.D, penned the foreward, and the appendix includes not only valuable forms such as a sample contract for services, but also a business plan, and an article by Robert N. Butler, M.D., "Butler Reviews Life Review."
