About

Born out of rock & roll and named after their song, "Mexican Moonshine," Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers present their double-distilled, triple-filtered ultra premium sipping tequila.  As independent artists, they answer only to themselves and their fans for their music and take the same pride in their award-winning line of tequilas.  Working with the Master Distiller, they created an un-oaked Silver, a Reposado that has spent 9 months in Kentucky bourbon barrels of American White Oak, and an Añejo that continues to age in those Kentucky bourbon barrels for a total of 18 months.  This tequila may have a lyrical name, but the quality and smoothness are quite serious.  Taking it one step further, the distillery uses their filtration technology to return the leftover liquids from distillation to drinkable water and compostable solids. Over 40% of the energy used to make Mexican Moonshine Tequila comes from solar panels mounted on the rooftop of the distillery.  "We choose commerce with conscience," says Roger Clyne.
Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers (RCPM) and Mexican Moonshine Tequila put on a 4 day music festival in Puerto Peñasco, MX every June.  2017 will mark the 18th year of the tradition that brings upwards of 5,000 fans from all over the United States and a few countries like Germany and Finland to the small, sleepy fishing town on the Sea of Cortez.  "We are waiting for them to build more hotel rooms so the event can grow bigger!" adds Jim Dalton, lead guitarist and Denver resident for 28 years.  The event hosts 12-15 bands on 5-6 stages throughout the town.  Included in the festival is a charity event the drummer, PH Naffah, started called “Hot Dog & A Smile” that raises money for the local orphanage, who have been able to build a new wing with the revenue the festival has brought over the years.  There is also a beach soccer tournament called Rock & Soccer that benefits the local youth athletic programs. The band and their brand are invested in the culture, the people and the local economy of their festival with the Mayor even recording a welcome message in 2016.  The music festival is affectionately called, “Circus Mexicus.”
Locally owned is an important moniker, especially when used by small, independent companies that bring a craft product to market.  When or if they make it “big,” the revenue generated is spent locally where the owners live.  Mexican Moonshine Tequila is owned by band members who are residents of Arizona and Colorado.  They are proud to fly the Locally Owned flag in both of those markets.  “Our roots run deep in our backyards.”
Our Blue Weber agaves are grown in the valleys of Jalisco, Mexico.  These Lowland agaves carry their own unique characteristics.  Our un-oaked Silver is the essence of those agaves that impart, "slight citrus notes on the front end, followed by a peppery hue on the back end. Those are the personality traits I thought held the best interest on my palate," states Roger.  Here, the terroire has an abundance of obsidian and may be where those qualities originate.
The distillery, La Fabrica de Tequilas Finos, carries the NOM 1472.  They use stainless steel autoclaves and vats to bake and ferment the piñas into "Mosto."  Distillation is done using copper-lined, stainless steel pots.  They are located in the town of Tequila, Mexico.
Mexican Moonshine Tequila's awards include: Gold - San Francisco World Spirits, Gold - Spirits of Mexico, Gold - Brands of Promise by Tequila Aficionado, Best of the Best - Tequila.net for Lowlands.
