About

The Michigan Milk Producers Association is a dairy farmer owned cooperative and dairy processor. Founded in 1916, the MMPA serves approximately 2,000 dairy farmers in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin.

As a cooperative, our members are owners of the business and have the opportunity to be active in its governance. The 13 dairy farmers on our board work to guide the direction of the cooperative in the best interest of our members. MMPA works to best serve members every day by providing leading on-farm services, training and member involvement opportunities. With forward-thinking vision, MMPA also supports education for the next generation of dairy leaders with scholarships and youth development programs.

MMPA operates two SQF Level 3 certified manufacturing plants in Ovid and Constantine, Michigan. Products made at MMPA’s plants include butter, nonfat dry milk, cream and condensed skim milk. In addition, MMPA manufactures specialty cheeses at a recently acquired plant in Middlebury, Indiana.

In addition to dairy ingredients, MMPA supplies over a billion pounds of milk annually to local bottlers to fill the milk jugs found on the shelves of our grocery stores. Having a robust Michigan dairy industry means we have a consistent and ample supply of fresh milk from local farms throughout the year.
