About

Midwest Vocal Express
Midwest Vocal Express is the male a cappella chorus from Wisconsin whose repertoire includes songs in the American music form of Barbershop, show tunes, spirituals, popular music and traditional favorites.  The 65-man chorus is headquartered in the Milwaukee area and is made up of men from around the state.  Our highly acclaimed presentations have become legend among devotees of “Storytelling through Song”.  Founded in 1989 by men who performed at the highest levels, the chorus goal has always been to have fun and entertain audiences.

Music and Performance
Midwest Vocal Express performs family friendly music that is uplifting and emotionally engaging with the audience.  Each year there are full chorus performances for large audiences at Valentine’s Day, spring and Christmas.  During the season, the Chorus performs the stirring rendition of the National Anthem for the Milwaukee Brewers, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Milwaukee Wave.  To round out the year for the chorus, there are International and District competitions.   The chorus also offers quartet and chorus groups for local sing-outs, corporate meetings and community sponsored concerts.  One of the most popular events is the Singing Valentine program each Feb. 14 as chorus quartets sing a beautiful message of love.

Under the direction of Grant Wilson, the 60 man Midwest Vocal Express is recognized as one of the nation’s finest and most entertaining male a cappella singing groups.  Competing on the International Barbershop Contest stage, the MVE has finished in the top twelve for ten straight years, winning bronze medals in 2002, 2003 and 2006.  We rehearse every Monday evening at 7pm and visitors are always welcome.  Midwest Vocal Express is supported in part by a grant from CAMPAC and the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts.
