About

20 November 2007 Havant-based Dyer Burdett & Co. are delighted to announce that the company has been recognised by the legal profession’s leading analyst the ‘Legal 500’, which publishes an annual list of the UK’s top legal firms. Dyer Burdett & Co.’s expertise was credited in the recent 2007/2008 edition, where a special mention is also made of the niche marine and shipping department, of which Tim Reynolds, Head of the Department, is recognised for his skills in this specialised area of legal work. Tim is delighted with the company’s entry into the coveted list and said: “This demonstrates that you do not have to travel to London and pay London fees, to receive the best legal advice and representation. It is available here on the south coast, at Dyer Burdett & Co.” He added: “The news of our entry has coincided with the completion of a major international super yacht deal we have been working on, and a string of new and exciting instructions, and so the whole team is over the moon.” The Company has also been busy running a number of seminars recently. Tim has been in demand in providing an on-going series of lectures for the marine industry on terms and conditions of sale, and colleague Alan Collins has recently returned from addressing the Australian Lawyers Conference in Tasmania on the law relating to abuse claims, an area of practice in which he is internationally recognized as having particular expertise. Alan said: “To be recognized for our legal expertise and the service we provide to our clients is very rewarding. We are finding that we are receiving an increasing level of instructions from overseas, which is great news for us and of course, the local economy too. Reaching the Legal 500 is an indication that our efforts are recognized and undoubtedly enhances our reputation both within the profession and with our clients”.
