Beginning as a third-generation full service mover, Movex was founded in 1991 by Stuart Suddath.  The self-service alternative became very appealing as people begin seeking less expensive options for their long distance moves.  Rental trucks dominated as the primary alternative, but so many people were not able or did not want to drive a large, unreliable vehicle.

As Movex grew across the country, the success of the service propelled the company to back-to-back Inc500 awards for fastest growing companies.  Movex has also sponsored NASCAR and posted advertising with the USPS Moving Guide.
