The Fairfield Inn by Marriott North Myrtle Beach would like to welcome their new General Manager, Phillip Chan, to the team!  

Mr. Chan was born & raised in Charleston, SC and graduated with a Bachelor's in Business Administration from the College of Charleston.

While in school, Mr. Chan was the store manager at Classic Charleston Gifts & Gallery in the Historic District of Charleston, SC.  During this time is when Mr. Chan's interest in the hospitality industry began to flourish.

Upon graduation, Mr. Chan started his hospitality career at the Front Desk of the Market Pavilion Hotel in downtown Charleston.  His interest for the industry grew stronger and Mr. Chan wanted to pursue his career further.  He was presented with the opportunity to become the General Manager at the Clarion Inn & Suites in North Charleston.  Mr. Chan succuessfully developed a strong team at the Clarion and was able to increase revenue and occupancy during his two years with his experience in the SMERF group market as well as the Corporate Market.

Mr. Chan yearned to increase his palette for the food & beverage side and joined the Park Place Hospitality Group team at the "round" Holiday Inn Charleston Riverview as Restaurant Manager.  He put his heart & soul into creating a new dinner menu, developing Charleston drink specials and increasing dinner revenue.  

Seeing his well~rounded success, the Park Place Hospitality Group felt that Mr. Chan's abilities could be utilized at the Fairfield Inn by Marriott in North Myrtle Beach.  He has been at the property full~time since mid~July 2011 and Mr. Chan has created a strong management team in housekeeping, maintentance and the front desk!
