About

Nonprofit Communications and Media Network (NCM Network), formerly known as PIRATES or Print Interactive Radio and Television Educational Society, serves the Southern California community and EDUCATES nonprofit professionals, CONNECTS with media, and CREATES communications and cause awareness that makes an impact.

Founded in 1955, NCM Network is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. Membership is open to news, public services and public affairs media professionals, nonprofit organizations and employees, government agencies, and communications firms and individuals. NCM Network's volunteer-run Board of Directors includes representatives from each of these areas. NCM Network also embraces the rich diversity of our community, which is reflected in our membership and by our Board.

Dedicated to helping nonprofits work more effectively with the media, the NCM Network is the only Los Angeles association that offers regular opportunities for nonprofits, the media, and other communications professionals to network and connect.

NCM Network offers monthly programs, popular media mixers, and joint events with other Southern California nonprofit and communications organizations to provide members access and the tools and contacts to succeed. In addition, NCM Network gives back to the community through an ongoing scholarship program for college students in the communications field.
