About

The NC Coalition for Adoption Reform continues to educate both the public and NC Legislators who believe birthmother's were promised some type of confidentiality when they relinquished their child.

Since adoption records for the child are only sealed upon the finalization of adoption and not upon relinquishment, there is no way to uphold this confidentiality.

A set of twins are born.  The birthmother is promised confidentiality.  One of the twins is adopted.  That childs record is sealed.  The other child is never adopted, and requests his birth certificate.  It will have the birthmother's name on it.

This is the type of education our organization provides to the public, professionals, doctors, legislators, etc.
