About

Fox Searchlight has cast Gian Franco Tordi in the role of Gianni Agnelli's security boss alongside Matt Damon (Carroll Shelby), Christian Bale (Ken Miles) and Tony award-winner Tracy Letts (President Henry Ford II) in James Mangold’s upcoming movie about the battle between Ford and Ferrari at the 1966 Le Mans World Championship.

The pictdure will follow the true story of automotive visionary Carroll Shelby (Damon), British driver Ken Miles (Bale) and a team of American engineers and designers who were dispatched by Ford with the mission of building from scratch a new race car to defeat the perennially dominant Ferrari at the iconic Le Mans race. Jon Bernthal, and Jack McMullen will also star.

Logan director Mangold developed the film with screenwriters Jez and John-Henry Butterworth, the brothers who previously collaborated on the script for Edge Of Tomorrow and Fair Game. Chernin Entertainment is producing and the team is prepping now ahead of an August shoot.

Both the Hearst film and the Ford vs Ferrari picture are at 20th Century Fox, the studio behind Mangold’s hugely successful recent movies, “Logan” and “The Wolverine.”
