MECS LLC / Sharp School Competition Announces Winners
For Immediate Release:

(Montgomery, Alabama) – Montgomery Electronics & Communications Services, LLC (MECS) partnered with Sharp Corporation and Montgomery Public School System (MPS) to host a school technology competition.  
Derek Montgomery, MECS LLC President & CEO, partnered with Sharp Corporation to arrange the competition for the Montgomery Public School System (MPS).  All MPS schools were invited to submit a proposal to demonstrate how their school could leverage smartboard technology within the classroom.

The competition proposals required participation from both students and faculty.  Student collaboration with teachers that encouraged them to think about how technology impacts our society. During the proposition process, educators mastered the teaching methods that maximized the use of technology.

A team of local community leaders judged submissions established upon creativity, integration between
faculty and students, and the learning benefits offered to students.

The results are in, the winners (and their prizes) are as follows:
1st Place: Johnson Elementary - Three Sharp Aquos interactive whiteboards + MECS LLC Kids In Technology Event
2nd Place: Brewbaker Primary - One Sharp Aquos interactive whiteboard
3rd Place: Halcyon Elementary - One Sharp Aquos interactive whiteboard

This competition is yet another contribution from MECS in support of the communities they serve.  Since founding the company in 2004, Mr. Montgomery, MECS President & CEO, along with his team of solution engineers, have made many contributions to their client’s businesses and their communities, along with the Montgomery Public Schools.  
Previous MECS initiatives with Montgomery Public Schools include significant technology equipment donations, hosting Kids In Technology (KIT) events, scholarships, and sponsorship of teacher appreciation events. Mr. Montgomery is a local community leader with a track record of giving back to schools and organizations through the Kids In Technology initiative. Mr. Montgomery stated he is committed to the goal of “helping prepare children with the skills they need for success in the technology industry.”
The MECS Kids in Technology (KIT) program focuses on developing an interest in STEM-related careers for local students. MECS runs local events with schools and students of all ages to provide an interactive and hands-on technology experience with the latest in high-tech electronics gear. This experience teaches students how to design, control, and build high-tech systems the way the company does for its clients.
