About

The African Diaspora Network (ADN) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit membership organization dedicated to harnessing and engaging the intellectual, financial, philanthropic, and entrepreneurial capacity of Africans and friends of Africa in support of economic and social development across the continent. Since its founding in 2010, ADN has energized collaboration among Silicon Valley entrepreneurs, philanthropists, and African Diasporans to benefit Africa through various innovative programs and initiatives.

Our mission is to provide forums that accelerate access to resources fostering partnership, knowledge sharing, and investment opportunities across Africa. Key programs include:

Builders of Africa’s Future (BAF): An enterprise accelerator supporting early-stage African entrepreneurs through training, mentorship, and funding opportunities. BAF culminates in a virtual pitch day, where selected startups present their ventures to a global audience of investors and industry leaders.

African Diaspora Investment Symposium (ADIS): An annual event that brings together investors, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, and policymakers to discuss and promote investments in Africa. ADIS serves as a key platform for networking, idea exchange, and driving impactful investments across the continent.

Accelerating Black Leadership and Entrepreneurship (ABLE): A program designed to support Black entrepreneurs and business leaders by providing them with the tools, mentorship, and connections needed to succeed. ABLE focuses on equipping participants with the skills and knowledge to build sustainable businesses that can drive economic growth in their communities.

Impact and Innovation Series: This series of events and workshops aims to spotlight innovative solutions to challenges faced by African communities both on the continent and in the diaspora. These sessions offer opportunities for learning, collaboration, and driving forward impactful initiatives.

As part of ADN’s strategic plan for 2024-2028, the organization aims to raise $30 million by 2028 to scale its programs and further its mission of moving beyond remittances toward sustainable investments that drive transformative change across Africa. ADN invites investors, philanthropists, and partners to join us in empowering Africa’s next generation of innovators and contributing to the continent’s economic growth.
