About |
Prism Arts are a Cumbrian arts organisation and progressive studio established in 1987 to champion the work of learning disabled and neurodivergent artists and performers.
What We Do
We run year-round, multi art form programmes designed to spark creativity, build community, and provide life-changing opportunities for learning disabled and neurodivergent people.
Our Approach
Our studio programme supports long-term creative progression and access to meaningful opportunities. We offer inclusive, supportive spaces where artists are encouraged to explore their own choices and creative freedom. We believe that the insight and perspectives of learning disabled and neurodivergent people should be shared, recognised, and respected.
Inclusive Leadership
Formed in 2024, our Advisory Board is an emerging group of studio members who bring lived experience, creativity, and insight into the heart of our organisation. The group plays an influential role in shaping our work, contributing to decision-making and leading meaningful change from within.
Beyond the Studio
In addition to our core creative programme, we deliver inclusivity training for individuals and organisations. We also deliver transition-age programmes with SEND colleges and units across Cumbria – including James Rennie, Lakes College, and Beaumont College.
