Luisa “LJ” Dong, known as LJ The Medium and proudly called the “Queen with One Bean,” is a motivational speaker, author, counselor, and patient advocate. Born in Italy and raised in the United States, she holds a B.A. in Psychology and works as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor. After facing rare disease challenges, multiple surgeries, and ultimately donating her kidney to save a life, LJ transformed her journey into a mission of advocacy and empowerment. She serves as a living donor mentor with the National Kidney Registry and Director of Patient Advocacy for the Nutcracker Syndrome Association, helping raise awareness for living donation and rare diseases. As Ms. Achievement New York 2026, LJ uses her platform to promote resilience, education, and compassion. She is also the author of “The Spirit of Hope” and “Think Like a Medium, Act Like a Warrior,” encouraging others to own their story, never give up, and turn adversity into purpose
