About

Remcon Equipment, Inc. designs, fabricates, installs and repairs heavy-duty conveyor systems at its shop in Airway Heights, Washington, just west of Spokane. Most of its work goes to recycling facilities, where conveyors handle whole and broken glass, tin and aluminum cans, plastic, paper and corrugated containers.

Remcon began building recycling equipment in 1977 as a division of a structural steel fabricator. In 1991 it became a separate company specializing in turn-key, custom conveyor systems for recycling plants, including the support structures, work platforms and stairs around them. In 1998 it began supplying conveyors for computerized optical sorting systems and has since built more than 150 high-speed optical sorting conveyors. In all, Remcon has produced more than 1,500 systems, some with as many as 20 conveyors.

About 95 percent of production is slider bed, combination drag chain belt and roller chain belt conveyors, plus the hoppers, chutes, personnel platforms and stairs that go with them. Remcon also builds roller, troughing idler and elbow-up slider bed conveyors, and conveyors for specific jobs: baler feed, bulk container, infeed, shuttle, sort line feed, sorting and transfer. Every machine leaves the shop with a Remcon nameplate showing its model, serial and project number.

As both a manufacturer and a dealer, Remcon also supplies sorting and separation equipment, including trommels, disc screens, eddy current aluminum separators, overhead magnetic separators, magnetic head pulleys and vibratory screens. Its structures and parts line covers platforms and catwalks, storage bins, bunkers and hoppers, live floor bins, dumpers, vibratory feeders, blowers, replacement belts and replacement parts.

Remcon builds custom conveyors for equipment manufacturers, including makers of shredders, balers and sorting machines, along with troughing idler conveyors for mining and aggregate operations. Its service work covers installation, equipment moves, motor control centers, and repair and refurbishing of used conveyors, including conveyors built by other companies. Remcon systems are installed throughout the U.S. and abroad.

Sean Johnston became CEO in August 2026 as the company prepares to expand production capacity. Dennis Lux, who led Remcon for decades, remains with the company as CEO emeritus.
