I own a logistics business and I broke down in Florida for a few weeks. I was stuck in one particular parking spot for about 5 or 6 days at a Jeremiah's restaurant. On 10/13/25 I was falsely accused of something I did not do and issued a trespass from the restaurant according Officer Julio Liriano. Officer Courtney Grimes claimed I was trespassed from the adjacent plaza, which has a different address and owners, as well, which was unbeknownst to me at the time because I did not hear her say that because I was still in a state of shock when she took over the conversation. I told them I was on the road for over 4 months and I had been broken down for a few weeks and that I was waiting for some money from my brother because I had just found a mobile mechanic to help me out and I would be gone soon. Two other officers came the next day and said I had 24 hours. Later on that day the mechanic came, jump started my van and I pulled into the adjacent parking lot of the Planet fitness where I'm a black card member. We spent the next few days working on the van in the Planet fitness parking lot. On 10/18, Liriano and Grimes came back while we were working on the van and said I was being arrested for trespassing. I tried to argue my case to no avail. Officer Grimes lied about 3 or 4 times on myself as well as her partner claiming that she told me multiple times that I couldn't be at the Planet fitness. She said Liriano also told me which was a lie. Then Liriano said that the plaza was off limits as well but that's not what he said on 10/:13. To make matters worse I did some digging and found out Officer Grimes received a proclamation from the city for helping out a white lady who had car trouble. She even went so far as to get her father to help her help this lady. In my case I had to spend 3 days in jail for having car trouble in the wrong place. This is why I feel like I was racially profiled to begin with by all involved. This is clearly police misconduct and I can only assume that's why they dropped the charges after I refused to plead guilty in exchange for time served. Everything written here is on tape in my discovery which I still have access to. These egregious, malicious actions led to my van being repossessed about a month later. It's been about 3 months now since I've been able to work and I want justice. I think Officer Grimes should lose her job the same way I had to lose my business.
