About

RemodX™ is an independent remodeling intelligence and homeowner advisory platform created to help people make better decisions before, during, and after a renovation.

Founded by architectural engineer, inventor, author, and construction veteran Andy Gibbs, RemodX draws on more than 50 years of real-world experience in residential design, construction, remodeling, product development, contracting, and project management.

The platform was created around a simple problem: homeowners routinely enter remodeling projects with far less information than the contractors, designers, suppliers, and other professionals sitting across the table from them. That information gap can lead to poorly defined scopes of work, incomparable bids, unexpected costs, change orders, scheduling problems, contractor disputes, and expensive mistakes.

RemodX gives homeowners access to tools and guidance designed to close that gap.

Resources include professional grade remodeling project planners, scope and specification development, contractor background research, bid and cost analysis, contract guidance, educational content, and practical strategies for controlling remodeling risk.

RemodX is also home to Ask REBO™, a free remodeling-specific agentic AI advisor developed from Gibbs’ own construction knowledge, writings, rules, and experience rather than relying solely on generic AI responses. Ask REBO helps homeowners think through questions involving project planning, budgeting, contractor selection, materials, sequencing, permits, contracts, remodeling risks, and other renovation decisions—while recognizing when an issue requires a licensed professional or on-site evaluation.

The platform complements Gibbs’ book, Rebo’s Remodeling Rules: The Money-Saving, Chaos-Ending Guide Contractors Hope You Never Read, which teaches homeowners the practical rules contractors already understand about how remodeling projects are priced, bid, contracted, scheduled, changed, and managed.

Gibbs is an architectural engineer and serial entrepreneur with more than 40 patents and decades of experience developing products and technologies. His background spans construction, engineering, intellectual property, software, artificial intelligence, and business development. He has also authored technical and business works and previously served as a contributing editor for Entrepreneur magazine’s digital edition.

RemodX does not sell remodeling projects or steer homeowners toward a particular contractor. Its mission is to represent the homeowner’s side of the table: providing independent information, tools, and decision support that can help people remodel with greater confidence, control costs, reduce risk, and avoid preventable mistakes.
