About

RiffTrax is the internet continuation of the cult-hit TV show Mystery Science Theater 3000.  At the end of the show's television run, star Mike Nelson and his comedic cohorts (Satellite of Love partners Kevin “Tom Servo” Murphy and Bill “Crow T. Robot” Corbett) reunited to “riff” (comedic commentary made during a film) the latest and greatest Hollywood blockbusters and duds, like Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars and the Dark Knight.

RiffTrax accomplishes this through the release of downloadable MP3 tracks (the RiffTrax) that synchronize with the playback of a given film to reproduce the MST3K experience.  RiffTrax has also developed a free software player that makes synchronization effortless.  True to our Mystery Science Theater 3000 roots, these riffs add endless hilarity to the best and worst of cinema.

In addition to the latest movies, RiffTrax also continues in the proud tradition of mocking the poorly-made, ancient and obscure films integral to MST3K's success.  A vast library of RiffTrax On Demand titles (video files complete with a pre-synchronized riff) suit this cause--ranging from Depression-era propaganda shorts to the most frighteningly awful horror films.
