Studio Art Centers International (SACI) is a U.S. non-profit 501(c)(3) university program in Florence, Italy, for undergraduate and graduate students seeking NASAD accredited studio art, design, and liberal arts instruction. Founded in1975, SACI offers: Academic Year Abroad, Academic Semester Abroad, MFA in Studio Art, MFA in Photography, MA in Art History, Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Programs in Studio Art or Conservation, and Summer Studies. Classes meet in two Renaissance palazzi in the heart of Florence’s historic center. SACI offers a wide range of studio art, art history, conservation, Italian theater, cinema, and literature courses, all taught in English, as well as Italian language courses at all levels.
SACI’s mission is to provide a unique, life-enhancing study abroad experience in the center of Florence for students of both traditional and contemporary studio arts and design by offering: direct access to centuries of Florentine and Italian culture; a wide range of art and design studio and complementary academic courses of outstanding quality; the opportunity to be part of an institution engaged in leading areas of research and exploration; and the unparalleled opportunity to interact with the Florentine community through a variety of social and humanitarian programs.
